Q:  How long does HCS Medication Reconciliation take to implement?
A:  Generally, HCS Medication Reconciliation can be in use within 6-8 weeks from contract signature.  Every facility has different medication reconciliation workflows.  HCS is flexible in implementation needs of each individual hospital.

Q:  Can HCS Medication Reconciliation communicate with my clinical system?
A:  Yes, HCS uses standard HL7 interface messages to send information to other clinical systems.

Q:  What kind of support is provided after HCS Medication Reconciliation is in use?
A:  Support is available 24x7, 365 days a year at no additional cost as long as the hospital is using the system.  Additionally, proactive support monitoring tools alert HCS and your hospital’s IT staff to potential problems so that investigation can occur before end users experience any difficulties.

Q:  Is HCS Medication Reconciliation capable of e-prescribing?
A:  Yes, HCS has full e-prescribing capabilities available in December 2010.  Additionally, HCS can generate paper prescriptions for doctor signature.  HCS can also fax prescriptions automatically to retail pharmacies.

Q:  Can HCS Medication Reconciliation automatically send information to the next care provider?
A:  Yes, this process is automated at discharge.  A paper copy can be generated, or an electronic fax can automatically be sent.  Additionally, an electronic prescription can also be sent to the patient's retail pharmacy of choice.

Q:  Does HCS Medication Reconciliation have integrated patient education?
A:  Yes, patient education leaflets can be generated in both English and Spanish.
