Alabama State University Spring 2026 Internship with HCS

Health Care Systems, Inc. (HCS) is kicking off 2026 with a continuation of our Spring internship partnership with Alabama State University (ASU). Above all, we anticipate another semester of meaningful, hands-on Health Information Management internship designed to shape future leaders in healthcare tech.

The intern team will spend the Spring semester gaining real-world experience here at HCS. Our supportive environment encourages growth in a field where patient-centered insight meets performance focused care. By engaging with emerging professionals, HCS strengthens its mission to deliver impact-driven clinical, financial, operational, and utilization management tools for the behavioral health field.

This collaboration allows students to explore the inner workings of electronic health record (EHR) systems, data governance, workflow optimization. Moreover, these essential safeguards keep patients safe and enhance patient care while protecting and growing revenue.

Dwight Henderson, President of HCS, expressed strong support for the initiative. In a recent conversation he noted that this partnership gives students “a fantastic opportunity to understand how a Behavioral Health Record is designed and supported to improve patient outcomes and increase revenue. The internship bridges the gap between academic learning and practical application. And, the students bring fresh ideas and energy to our team in return.”

As these interns begin their journey with HCS, we look forward to the perspectives they bring.
