OrderImage Overview

Print E-mail

HCS OrderImage is an advanced Patient Safety Solution for the electronic management of Paper-Based Physician Orders and other documents, and includes integrated clinical intervention documentation and reporting at no additional charge. HCS OrderImage improves communication between pharmacy and nursing by providing a way for nursing and pharmacy to view and send messages to each other, in addition to electronically managing the paper documents.

HCS OrderImage employs document imaging technology that leverages existing input devices such as scanners, fax machines, or multi-function devices. Documents are digitized and electronically transmitted from remote locations to the order entry workstation.  The images are sorted by priority, and can be viewed from the pharmacy or another location.

In multi-facility environments, HCS OrderImage promotes workload sharing by offering a single view work queue that can show all orders for all facilities, and still prioritize the orders appropriately, without require users to sign on multiple times!

HCS OrderImage enables remote order verification, which allows non 24 hour pharmacies to save time and money.  Pharmacists can view, enter, and communicate with nursing from anywhere in the hospital or via a secure internet connection at home.

With the HCS OrderImage Telepharmacy Module pharmacists can see packaged medications being prepared, and approve the orders.
